New Launch: Cityofbayvillage.com
August 20, 2001 Beachwood, Ohio - August 20, 2001 - After several months of planning, organization, and hard work, the City of Bay Village launched a brand new state-of-the-art web site, www.cityofbayvillage.com, that features an interactive community calendar, dynamic email postcards, an online homeowner's guide, and detailed city maps. An extremely sophisticated yet user-friendly Content Manager supports the majority of the site, making it easy for City staff members to update web site content on their own. While the breadth and depth of information planned for inclusion on this site presented an organizational and maintenance challenge, WRIS and the City of Bay Village web team answered the challenge with careful engineering of a Content Manager. City staff members are able to logon to a password-protected web interface to add, edit, and delete news, events, residential information, articles, city council minutes, city officials directories, and frequently asked questions. The key to a successful and valuable civic site is the ability to keep it up-to-date. The Content Manager is so simple to use, in fact, that Bay Village staff needed no instruction and even began updating content as we were building the site.
