New Virus Stripping E-mail Service
April 25, 2002
We've added automatic e-mail virus stripping and content filtering options to our hosting and e-mail services. Through a partnership with EasyLink, a global e-mail management company, we are now able to prevent errant e-mail messages from damaging your company's network, reputation and business relationships by blocking them before they reach your network. These two options are detailed below:
1. Virus stripping -- Almost 90% of all virus infections come from email attachments. By adjusting a few settings on our system and yours, we are able to automatically route inbound and outbound mail through a virus stripping process. This service ensures that virtually all e-mail you receive and send will be virus-free. By stripping infected attachments before they enter your inbox, you will avoid costly virus cleanups and will never worry about whether or not your virus software has been updated recently. This method is by far the most cost-effective virus prevention available.
2. Content Filtering -- This option allows a user to set up content filtering rules that will prevent certain types of e-mail messages from entering or leaving a computer or network. Content filtering can be used to minimize Spam and reduce the risk of improper content leaving an office network.
