WRIS Wins Two WebAwards
September 16, 2003 CLEVELAND, September 16, 2003 – WRIS, Inc., a web design and development firm located in Warrensville Heights, received awards in two categories in the Web Marketing Association's seventh annual WebAward Competition for website development. WRIS received an "Outstanding Web Site" award in the "Education" category for the site it developed for Corporate College® - www.clevelandconferencecenter.com. Located in Westlake, Ohio, Corporate College® is Cuyahoga Community College's newly renovated, state-of-the-art facility that combines the latest technology and upscale amenities to create a one-of-a-kind, premier corporate conference, and training environment. The award-winning website was created to mimic the sleek, open space design and ergonomic feeling that characterizes the building's enhanced learning environment. The abstract photographs, facility tour and press section are intended to pique interest and encourage prospective meeting planners to begin their planning online. A flexible, step-by-step, interactive planning form walks visitors through the process of selecting room layouts, appropriate technology equipment and catering options. Judges from the WebAward Contest deemed the site "an excellent interactive planning tool" stating, "The site's strongest asset is the ability to customize a package online. This is a wonderful feature that will keep clients coming back." WRIS also received a "Standard of Excellence" award in the "Regional" category for the site it created for the Bay Village Recreation Department - www.bayrec,org. The Bay Village Recreation Department offers a wide variety of recreation programs that are continually being expanded and revised in response to resident interests. Because of this, the site was built with a user-friendly content management system allowing administrative staff to easily add and cancel programs, view lists of individuals registered for each program and manually enter information for mail-in and walk-in registrants. The registration process on the front-end is equally as simple, and the easy-to-follow instructions guide the registrant through the process of signing up and paying for a class online. More than 1,000 sites from 19 countries were adjudicated in 80 industry categories during this year's competition. Entries were judged on design, innovation, content, interactivity, navigation, ease of use and use of technology. The competition was judged by a team of independent Internet professionals representing a variety of relevant disciplines of Web site development. Judges included members of the media, advertising executives, site designers, corporate marketing executives, content providers and webmasters. About The Web Marketing Association, Inc.
