Postini Password
When creating an account in Postini, the system generates the default password and mails it to the user.
Please note: when you click on the link in the email you will be taken to your login page. It may appear that your password has been entered for you. This is NOT the case. You will need to enter the temporary password from the email. The easiest (and most accurate) way to accomplish this, is by copying the password from the email and pasting it into the password box on the login page.

Postini Password Change
Postini users can change their own passwords.
The user will:
Login to Postini: https://login.postini.com/
Once logged in the user will see “account settings” in top right corner.
That link will take the user to a page where they can change their password.

Postini Password Retrieval
For lost passwords, enter anything into the login screen for a password.
When the login is denied, a link for lost password will display.
Click the link and follow the on-screen directions.
A temporary password will be mailed to the user.
Login with the temporary password.
The user will be asked to change passwords.
The form will ask for the “OLD” password. This is the temporary password from the email.
The form will ask for a “NEW” password. This is what the user decides to use as their password.

Postini Admin Tool
The Postini Admin Tool is available for clients for a $25 set-up fee.
With the Postini Admin Tool administrators may add and delete email accounts to their spam filter list. An email account must be set up in Imail (Webmail) and in Postini (spam filter list) to receive mail from anyone outside of your domain. A client may also purchase Imail Admin rights.

The Postini Admin Tool may be accessed at http://postinisync.wris.net/index.cfm
The administrator username and password will be given to the administrator at the time of set-up.

Once an administrator is logged in, a form is available to add or delete users and aliases.
Enter the account (jsmith for jsmith@wris.net) in the email address box.
Then choose the desired action: add, delete, add as an alias, or delete an alias.
If the desired action is to add an alias, also enter the account that will receive the alias.
Hit submit.
That’s it.

You will be notified that the action was successful. If you try to enter an address that is already on your list, you will be notified that the address clashes with an existing user. If you try to delete an account that doesn’t exist, you will be notified that the user doesn’t exist.

Common Postini Problems
P: Unable to login using link for the email.
S: when you click on the link in the email you will be taken to your login page. It may appear that your password has been entered for you. This is NOT the case. You will need to enter the temporary password from the email. The easiest (and most accurate) way to accomplish this, is by copying the password from the email and pasting it into the password box on the login page.

P: I’ve reset my password. I’m being asked for my old password. I don’t know it, that’s why I’m resetting.
S: When changing/resetting a password the user will be asked to enter the “OLD” password. This is the temporary password from the email that is sent to the user. The “NEW” password is what the user desires as their permanent password.

P: I know my login information is correct, but Postini still won’t let me in.
S: Very rarely, the traffic at Postini is so large that the login process gets backed up. Wait one half-hour and attempt logging in again. Keep in mind that your Postini login username and password may not be the same as your Webmail username and password or your Postini Admin Tool username and password.
